I’ve seen more and more of a premium placed on fresh items in grocery stores lately. Wholefoods has organic food (at a price that breaks my bank), Food Emporium has natural food, Dean & Deluca has gluten-free food. Who has them beat? Garden growers! I envy those with space enough for a plot to plant on and pluck juicy items from. As a child, my summers were filled with red tomoatoes and crisp cucumbers from our modest, yet abundant garden in Illinois.
My step mom sent me some pictures of creations from her garden: PIES! She took rhubarb straight from the garden and put it into pies that look delicious. Mmmmm…I can almost smell them.
What do you guys think, is fresh better? Do you pay more for organic/natural products?
